Updated for January 17th service information

The stay-at-home order issued Tuesday afternoon does not change conditions much from the week before, but it means that church staff could be stopped driving to the church to prepare video content. The head of one denomination’s district office has issued this statement to his churches:

“Churches remain in a privileged position in that all Places of Worship continue to have the provision of up to 10 people allowed to gather for the purpose of preparing and / or presenting online corporate worship gatherings.”

The unofficial statement from our contact at the HKPR Health Unit is

Police and OPP have been given directive to stop people; not sure how aggressive the enforcement will be locally – the point being that people are required to stay home at this time… I could see this order being extended given what we are seeing in terms of increased numbers, hospitalizations and deaths.

We also received this update regarding Tuesday’s statement:

Work from Home Except Where Necessary

Each person responsible for a business or organization that is open shall ensure that any person who performs work for the business or organization conducts their work remotely, with limited exception, for instance, where the nature of their work requires them to be on-site at the workplace.

On December 26th, Ontario entered the “gray” zone putting us back into lockdown as we were in March and April. At this point there should not be any in-person gatherings happening.

We’ve cleared the board below of in-person gathering information.

This page therefore reverts to its former status, reminding you of opportunities to connect with your congregation through Facebook or YouTube. The information we have is only as reliable as churches make it available. Churches are strongly recommended to post information FIRST on their church WEBSITE, in other words, NOT FACEBOOK, though you may duplicate information there as well.
